You can help restore the bee population by having one or two hives in your backyard! Learn everything you need to know to get started including hive assembly, honey bee biology, colony management, pest management, and honey production. Discover what protective bee equipment is needed. Diagnose the signs and symptoms of viruses and colony collapse disorder and how to prevent it. Opportunity to join a beekeeping club at the Cedar Valley Arboretum and textbook included. This class meets every other week.
