This is the Advanced CNA course. Included in the cost of the class will be books and supplies. BLS through the American Heart Association, Blood Borne Pathogens, and HIPAA training. Advanced Nursing Assistants will perform a combination of duties, including care of residents/patients in a hospital, nursing home, or other medical community under the direction of nursing and medical staff. You will assist with activities of daily living (ADL) as indicated by the plan of care, utilizing adaptive equipment as indicated and incorporating appropriate individualized toileting, turning, and repositioning schedules to prevent skin breakdown. You will incorporate expanded knowledge of physiology to recognize changes in maximizing functional status related to mobility and nutritional well-being and assist with examinations, treatments, and specimen collection when needed. In addition, you will maintain respect and dignity in all aspects of care, serve as the resident/patient advocate according to advanced directives, participate in the care planning process, and document responses to interventions according to guidelines. Finally, you will demonstrate proficiency in all nursing assistant tasks.
