This hybrid course is designed to prepare the student as an entry level Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT). The student will be expected to complete portions of this class online. This course includes all skills necessary for the individual to provide emergency medical care at the Advanced EMT level with an ambulance or rescue service. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) psychomotor and cognitive exams. Completion of this course does not guarantee certification as an AEMT. The student must pass the NREMT exams to be certified as an AEMT. The student must be 18 years old and hold a current EMT Certification, and BLS Provider card. The student will be required to bring this to the first night of class with them. 96 hours of clinical/ ride time is required outside the course time. Included in the cost of the course are the book, polo, NREMT psycomotor, and cognitive exam.
