The 19th annual Hawkeye Community College Student Art Show opens with a reception from 6:00–8:00pm in the Hawkeye Library. Awards will be announced at 7:00pm.
The competitive art show will present artwork, photography, and design from students in Fine Arts, Professional Photography, Graphic Communications, and Welding programs. The public is invited to attend.
The juror for this year's annual student art exhibition is Johanna Kramer-Weston, a Cedar Falls artist and educator. Kramer-Weston is a 2001 graduate of Mount Mercy University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and painting. She earned her master’s degree in painting at the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, working as a graphic designer and teaching art history and appreciation classes at Hawkeye. She is currently gallery director and exhibitions manager for Wartburg College and serves as board president of the Friends of the Waterloo Center for the Arts. Kramer-Weston has exhibited work at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, Wartburg College, and UNI’s Rod Library.
Artwork will be on display at the Hawkeye Library April 10–May 4, 2018 during regular library hours.
