Join us and the Waterloo Career Center as we discuss how we can address the skills gap with the implementation of a Quality Pre-Apprenticeship program. We believe we can help meet the need of local businesses who may be experiencing this challenge by connecting them with area high school students who are interested in a career in construction/carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or healthcare.
Hawkeye Community College has been providing career and technical training for more that 50 years and for the past 13 years we have successfully conducted apprenticeship training for area businesses. We believe the earn-as-you-learn model is a great way to lessen this skills gap in the trades and encouraging and training younger individuals to enter these demanding fields will only help.
