Experience Respect: A Musical Journey of Women at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 19 at Hawkeye Community College.Respect: A Musical Journey of Women tells the journey of women using Top 40 music and songs.

Dr. Dorothy Marcic, professor at Vanderbilt, created the show based on her book, RESPECT: Women and Popular Music, where she analyzed all Top-40 female song lyrics since 1900. Marcic combines excerpts of more than 60 songs with women’s own stories about finding dreams, lost love, relationship issues, entering the workforce, gaining independence, and more.

This show is more than just a story worth telling, it’s a must-see and must-hear production!

Presented by the Iowa Summer Repertory Theatre from the University of Iowa.
