All courses are approved by the Iowa Board of Nursing Provider #5 for one contact hour. They are also approved for CEH's for EMS providers. Full attendance is required and no partial credit will be awarded.

Family Systems and Insight About Your Role

Family Systems and Insight About Your Role is a one-hour webinar where you learn to identify how the family systems and roles impact a person and how it impacts the care they give to others. Learn how to articulate the positive impact and challenges that family roles play in adulthood and implement strategies to help modify family roles that may have stagnated.

Facilitator – Crystal Cole

Crystal Cole is the Director of Counseling and Wellness at Upper Iowa University and is an adjunct instructor in the Psychology department. She is driven to help people and educate others about mental health. Her academic background includes a Master of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master’s in Business Administration from Upper Iowa University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Family Services with a minor in Criminology from the University of Northern Iowa. Cole is a Licensed Master Social Worker as well as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. 

Her employment background includes work in healthcare as the administrator of a skilled nursing and long-term care facility, as well as social work services in long-term care. Prior to working in long-term care, Cole worked in hospice services. She also has experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as hospital social work services and school guidance counseling.

At Upper Iowa University, Cole provides mental health counseling services to students, leads the student wellness initiatives on campus, provides programming, and trains the campus community on wellness topics including but not limited to financial, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, social and environmental wellness. She also trains the campus and local community members on Mental Health First Aid and Behavior Intervention Team approaches.
