Welcome Week Extravaganza
posted on Thursday, August 1, 2019 in
Welcome to August and the return of school! Whether this is your first student attending college or you are a seasoned veteran, this is an important month for you. Hawkeye Community College is here to support you and make the collegiate experience the best it can be. It is important to be involved and connected to not only the college but the community. By encouraging them to explore their options and take advantage of the clubs and organizations Hawkeye Community College has to offer you will feel connected to them and the college.
Encourage your student to attend Fall Fest, our biggest event of the year. It is filled with vendors from around the community and many of the active clubs and organizations are there to recruit new members. Welcome week is a fun filled week with French Toast Breakfast Tuesday, Fall Fest and our Jam the Gym Tailgate and Volleyball Game Wednesday, and Archery Tag to finish out the week on Thursday. It’s the perfect time to connect to the campus and make new friends. As a parent or guardian, you are an important piece of your student’s collegiate experience. The wider the support net, the more likely your student is to achieve their goals. We hope the start of the school year is successful for you and your student.
