Welcome from President Dr. Todd Holcomb

Greetings from the President!

I am pleased to have joined Hawkeye Community College as its eighth President on July 1, 2019. While I look forward to working with faculty and staff, I am especially eager to get to know our students. As a parent of a current or incoming student, you can rest assured that everyone at Hawkeye is ready to help your son or daughter succeed in his/her academic path.

The offices at Hawkeye Community College are open all summer to assist students preparing for fall classes. If your son or daughter is a returning student, please encourage him or her to register for classes as soon as possible to ensure availability for the courses they need.

If your son or daughter is a new student, they will be required to participate in a Mandatory Orientation and Registration Experience (MORE) session. The information students receive during this session will help prepare them for classes and develop partnerships that will ensure success. They will learn about Financial Aid, Business Services, successful student strategies and how to navigate MyHawkeye, which is the College’s online access point. MyHawkeye allows students to access email, online course materials, and My WebAdvisor resources (including courses and schedules, billing and payment, financial aid, and other personal information). They will learn more about their program major and meet with faculty in the program and their advisor. Most importantly, they will actually register for classes during this session. There is also a parent session, so you are encouraged to come along. Once your son or daughter receives an acceptance letter from Hawkeye, they will receive information about a MORE session through his or her Hawkeye email. We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you for your support of Hawkeye Community College.

Todd Holcomb, Ed.D.
President
