Spring Scholarship Opportunities are Blooming

posted on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in  Parent Newsletter

Dear Hawkeye Parents,

The Spring 2020 semester is off to a great start! As president of Hawkeye Community College, it is my goal to make sure students have the information and support services necessary for them to succeed. Sometimes that success comes through the development of new and innovative programs, and other times it comes in the form of a helping hand. One of the ways we can make the journey a bit easier is through scholarships offered by the Hawkeye Foundation. I want to make sure parents are aware of important scholarship deadlines for students. The deadline to apply for Fall 2020 scholarships is March 1. By completing one application, your student is applying for dozens of scholarships! Details about qualifying and applying, as well as information about specific scholarships available are posted online. Please encourage your son or daughter to apply!

Also, did you know Hawkeye Community College is part of the Cedar Valley Little Free Pantry network? This resource provides short-term food supplies for students who may be experiencing a food or financial crisis. The tag line for these kiosks is “Take what you need or leave what you can.” The Little Free Pantry is located in the north foyer area of the Hawkeye Library.

And, as always, thank you for your support of Hawkeye Community College.

Todd Holcomb, Ed.D.
