Dear Hawkeye Parents,

We are glad your son or daughter is considering or has chosen to attend Hawkeye Community College! Our goal is to provide students with innovative educational experiences that will prepare them for tomorrow's careers. I want you to know that at Hawkeye we believe Every Student Matters, and our faculty and staff will be focusing on helping each student succeed.

We’ll kick off the new school year with a FREE French toast breakfast for all students on Tuesday, August 27 beginning at 7:30am in the Brock Student Center. Then the annual Fall Fest will celebrate the new school year in the campus courtyard on Wednesday, August 28 from 10:00am-1:00pm. Fall Fest 2019 is going to be bigger and better than ever! Students will enjoy FREE pizza, ice cream, music, games, and prizes! There will be representatives of the various clubs and organizations on campus as well as different business and volunteer opportunities in the Cedar Valley area. This is an event to help students make friends and kick off the school year right. Students who participate in co-curricular opportunities graduate at a higher rate.

I know our students appreciate the support of family and friends, so this newsletter is a tool to help you stay current with what is happening on campus. I also encourage you to “like” Hawkeye Community College on Facebook. Many upcoming events and activities will be posted on Facebook so you can help your student get involved on campus. We’re looking forward to a great academic year!

Thank you for your support of Hawkeye Community College.

Todd Holcomb, Ed.D.
