Presidential Send Off

Dear Hawkeye Parents,

Whether your son or daughter is taking summer classes or taking the summer off, I do hope the change of pace provides time to re-energize and prepare for the next year. Offices on campus will be open all summer in preparation for the start of classes on Monday, August 26. Hawkeye staff will be available to assist your son or daughter with financial aid, academic advising, registration, and many other services.

The Hawkeye Community College Library is open all summer for academic or leisure reading. As a matter of fact, our library is open not only to Hawkeye students but also to the general public!

Our Health Education and Services Center will also be open all summer, with a variety of group fitness classes that are FREE for students! These include Cardio Kickboxing, Functional Fitness, TRX Fit Fusion, 40/20, Weekend Warrior, MOVEment, and Bootcamp.

Please encourage your son or daughter to call, visit campus, or visit the Hawkeye website early to make sure fall enrollment deadlines are met and they are prepared for the new academic year.

This will be my last time writing to you, as I will be retiring on June 30 after serving as the President of Hawkeye Community College for 8 years. Dr. Todd Holcomb will take the reins as President on July 1 and I am confident the College will continue to serve students well under his leadership. Thank you for your support of Hawkeye Community College!

Linda Allen, Ph.D.
