Healthy Body & Mind Makes Your College Student Happy

Fall Semester can be a challenging time for many students. For some it may be the first time away from home. For many there are new classes, new teachers, making new friends, and learning to adjust schedules around class time, studying, and work. We are here to help your student adjust to this new chapter in their lives.

To keep those bodies healthy we encourage a yearly physical and recommend immunizations. We also know that with new, busy schedules our bodies can become exhausted which can lead to illness. Our staff can see your child for sick visits, physicals, immunizations, sexual health testing, and more.

While enrolled at Hawkeye Community College, your student has access to primary Medical and Mental Health Care services at the Student Health Clinic. The Hawkeye Student Health Clinic has a Nurse Practitioner and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who are available to evaluate, treat and counsel your student. The clinic is open daily and located in the HESC-Health Education and Services Center. We encourage students to bring their health insurance cards when presenting for services, however, services are available at low cost or no cost for students who have no insurance.

We believe a healthy body + a healthy mind can make all the difference in the success of your child. Talk to your child about the services available at the Hawkeye Student Health Clinic and encourage them to make an appointment. 319-296-4224
