Not all students are eligible for summer financial aid. If your student is eligible for summer aid it’s important to note most summer loans are considered one term loans and will be split into two equal disbursements within the semester. Please budget accordingly. If you are unsure if your student’s summer loan funds will be disbursed in two equal payments, please contact the Financial Aid Office. Check with your students to determine if they have filled out a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) release. Without a release on file, we are limited to the amount of information we can share with you as a parent. Your student can find this release on their My Hawkeye account or by visiting the Financial Aid Office. If your student has not yet filled out the 2019-2020 FAFSA application, it is available online or download the myStudentAid mobile app.
Is your student interested in making $9.75/hour while working a job on Hawkeye’s campus? Have them check their Federal Work Study eligibility with the Financial Aid Office. Encourage your student to continue checking our scholarship webpage. New scholarship opportunities are added regularly for your student to apply for.
