Falling into Spring Financial Aid Facts

FIN AID FAST FACT: Did you know all student loan borrowers who graduate from college, stop attending college, or drop below 6 credits of enrollment are required to complete Federal Exit Loan Counseling on the Student Loans Website?  If your student falls under one of these categories, make sure they complete this in a timely manner or else they will not have access to their official transcripts or diploma. 

Has your student received their fall 2019 financial aid yet or do they have outstanding documentation to turn in? Have your student log onto their MyHawkeye Financial Aid Self Service to vied this information.

Is your student maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)? Read more about SAP standards here

If your student didn’t meet SAP standards fall 2019 semester, they may not be eligible for spring 2020 financial aid.
Students can view their SAP status through their MyHawkeye > WebAdvisor for Students > Financial Aid > Financial Aid Services. The green, yellow, or red banner at the top of the page will display their status.

Is your student attending college during the 2020 – 2021 school year? If you answered yes, then you should start filing the 2020-2021 FAFSA now.
The 2020-21 FAFSA uses your 2018 income taxes.
