December Letter from the President
posted on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in
Dear Hawkeye Parents,
Now that the Thanksgiving holiday is behind us, Hawkeye’s Fall semester will come to a close in just a couple of weeks. Students are wrapping up class assignments and the semester will conclude on December 14. For those students who are completing their studies at Hawkeye, we look forward to seeing them again on May 17, 2019 for our graduation program. I hope your son/daughter has had a good experience at Hawkeye Community College and that the Parent Newsletter has been a helpful resource. Each issue is designed to provide updates on current activities on campus as well as general information about Hawkeye.
However, the close of the fall semester doesn’t mean that activities at Hawkeye will stop. In fact, offices will be staffed through December 21 to assist students registering for the Spring 2019 semester. In addition, Minimesters (short courses in an online format) will begin on December 14, allowing students to earn an extra 3 credits over the winter break. Our offices will reopen on Wednesday, January 2 and the Spring Semester begins on Monday, January 14. Also, our online services will continue to be available throughout the holiday break at www.hawkeyecollege.edu allowing students to access many services without coming to campus.
This time of the year is full of celebrations and I hope you have the opportunity to spend time with your family and reflect on the year’s accomplishments. I look forward to great things happening at Hawkeye Community College in 2019!
And, as always, thank you for your support of Hawkeye Community College.
Linda Allen, Ph.D.
