College Selection Process

posted on Friday, March 1, 2019 in  Parent Newsletter

March is an exciting time as Senior Year festivities swing into high gear and the anticipated college acceptance letters begin to arrive. Soon your senior is going to have to make the important decision of which college to attend. It is important to guide your senior on how to choose the best college for them. Pro/con lists help your student visualize their wants and needs in a college setting and easily side-by-side compare different schools. Topics such as cost of credits, scholarship options, and how to pay for school are all top priorities while housing, and activities outside the classroom can set schools apart. It never hurts to visit top choices one final time as it may give one school the edge.

Hawkeye Community College is a great option that checks many boxes in terms of classes offered at an affordable price with plenty of extracurricular activities and amenities. We have many Experience Hawkeye Visit Days coming in March and April to help your student decide and see what sets Hawkeye Community College apart from other schools they may be considering. March roars in like a lion and out like a lamb, and we certainly hope that for your student. However, if the college acceptance letters didn’t go as planned, tell your student all hope is not lost. Hawkeye Community College is a great alternative.

Transferring has never been easier and successfully attending Hawkeye Community College can make getting into your student’s dream school possible! It is not too late to apply! Visit our website or call admissions with any questions about classes, programs, and how to enroll. We would love to have you and your senior join the RedTail family and help them achieve their dreams!
