Mark your calendar for these important Hawkeye Bookstore dates:

  • January 3, 2020 – Student accounts open for students to charge textbooks
  • January 22, 2020 – Last day for a full refund on textbooks for courses starting the week of January 13
  • January 24, 2020 – Inclusive Access charges submitted to Business Office

Online ordering and FREE in-store pickup!

Don’t forget you can order your books online and choose our in-store pickup method of delivery.  Skip the long lines to print your booklist, having to find all your textbooks, and another long line at the checkout!  You place the order online, and we do all the work.  We’ll find your books, box them up and, will let you know when they are ready to be picked up.  (Student account orders will be available for pickup after January 3, 2020)

Seasonal Job Opportunities:

If your student is looking to make some money to help with textbook costs (or any other expenses), we are always looking for a seasonal employees that are willing to work during the first few weeks and the last few weeks of each semester.  No year-round commitment!  A little extra money can go a LONG way!

Inclusive Access – What is it?

Inclusive Access is a collaborative program among Hawkeye bookstore, instructors, and publishers that provides students with their course materials digitally on the first day of classes at a reduced cost.  Inclusive Access may just be an e-book, but can also include additional courseware for assignments or tests.  Students are automatically opted-in to the program and the cost is charged to their student account.  Students may choose to opt-out, but we strongly advise students speak with their instructors before doing so, as Inclusive Access can include required online materials required for homework or tests, than just the e-book.  If you need access to a physical copy of your e-book, loose leaf print upgrades may be available to students at a significantly reduced price.  They are only available after the Inclusive Access program fee has been charged to the student account as these books are supplementary materials, not in-place-of materials.  The students must remain opted-in to the program to purchase the upgrade.

More than Textbooks:

While we deal primarily with textbooks, the bookstore has much more than just books to offer.  We have Hawkeye and RedTail gear as well as souvenirs.  We carry a selection of office supplies, earbuds, and charging cords if your student gets to campus and finds their pen is out of ink, their earbuds are tangled, or their phone is almost dead.  While these extra things can’t be charged to their student account, they are still some of our best sellers in those times of need!

We do try to have some fun sales in store (excluding textbooks and electronics) that usually go along with FREE POPCORN.  If you’re anywhere in Hawkeye Center and smell popcorn, chances are we’re giving away free bags so stop on by for a snack.  Want to know when these events are happening?  Follow us on the outlets below to keep in touch!
