Hawkeye Community College Foundation Awards Tim Peterson Scholarship to

On April 22, 2021, the family of Tim Petersen presented the Tim Petersen Memorial Scholarship to Jacob Demmer. Jacob is a 2020 graduate of Western Dubuque High School and is currently in his first year of the Police Science program at Hawkeye Community College.
This scholarship was started in memory of Tim Petersen, a Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Deputy and also a soldier in the Iowa Army National Guard. Tim was a graduate of the Police Science program, and due to his dedication to our community and his compassion for those he came in contact with, his family started this scholarship. The family hosts yearly fundraisers to raise money for the scholarship.
