WATERLOO–Hawkeye Community College will host the eighth annual Cedar Valley Manufacturing Conference on Wednesday, April 11, from 8:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Tama Hall on Hawkeye’s Main Campus, 1501 East Orange Road, Waterloo.

In spite of new and emerging technologies, organizations are realizing the value of hiring and training for stronger interpersonal traits and soft-skills, along with technical skills. Keynote speaker Dr. Bill Withers will share what he’s learned from four and five-star businesses as they have dealt with change, workplace culture, worker-engagement, and service. A professor at Wartburg College, Dr. Withers has decades of management experience in business and education, both studying and serving organizations like Proctor & Gamble, Ritz-Carlton, Hy-Vee, and Starbucks.

The conference breakout sessions include discussions on human resources, training quality, workplace safety, 3D printing, and Elevate Iowa’s ambassador training. To view the full agenda and to register, visit www.hawkeyecollege.edu/manufacturing.
