Six Hawkeye Community College instructors received certification from the National Institute of Manufacturing Skills (NIMS) after an intensive workshop training held at Hawkeye.

Formed in 1995 by the metalworking trade associations, NIMS develops and maintains a globally competitive workforce by setting industry skills standards, certifying individual skills against the standards, and accrediting training programs to meet quality requirements. NIMS is the only developer of standards for the nation’s metalworking industry accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
