Hawkeye hosted the Region 3 National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools meeting, October 15–16, 2014. There were 25 attendees representing eight schools, five carriers, two vendors, the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration, and Iowa Motor Truck Association.

Chris Hummer of Don Hummer Trucking caught the attention of many of our participants with a presentation on his company’s belief: “Driving forward is the partnership to success.” A brief history and tour of the John Deere Engine Works was given on Wednesday. On Thursday, following a great lunch at the River Loop, the group toured the Kenny Kass Tractor Collection. Everyone expressed their amazement at some of the old and unique tractors and fun was had by all.

The Regional Transportation Training Center would like to thank all the sponsors and individuals who helped make this regional meeting a success!
