University of Northern Iowa College of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences: Natural Science

Transfer Tip Sheet [pdf]

College of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences Natural Science majors include: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Math, and Physics.

Students seeking a major in one of the above areas must first be admitted to the College of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences at UNI.

Major Specific Courses and Requirements

BA and BS degrees are available for some majors. Requirements and suggested electives vary for each major.

Note:

Degrees, admission requirements, and suggested electives for each major within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences vary. We encourage you to work closely with your Hawkeye advisor and your UNI advisor to plan the courses you need to take at Hawkeye to transfer to the major of your choice.

Placement in Math courses is dependent on ACT, ACCUPLACER, or COMPASS scores. All students must take the ALEKS for math placement at UNI once they transfer, no matter the level of math completed at Hawkeye.

Additional emphasis areas or paths may exist within degrees and not all are necessarily listed on this sheet.

These requirements are subject to change without notice. Please check with UNI for verification of courses.
