Upper Iowa University RN - BSN Program Transfer Information

This information is designed for students who are wanting to transfer from a completed Associate Degree (Nursing) program to Upper Iowa University for a Bachelor's of Science Nursing (BSN) degree. Upper Iowa University will complete a course-by-course evaluation of transfer credit toward an Upper Iowa degree, even when the AA or AS degree has been completed.

All perspective students must:

  • Be licensed as Registered Nurse, have evidence of CPR certification, and evidence of meeting all health and immunization requirements.

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.

  • Pass a criminal background check.

  • Complete ID-301 (Critical Thinking) at Upper Iowa University as a pre-requisite.

Additional Information

  • Students who do not complete an AA or AS degree can transfer from a community college up to 78 hours towards the 120 hours needed for graduation, and will have junior standing.

  • Transfer grades lower than a "C-" will not be accepted.

  • Courses can only fulfill 1 UIU General Education requirement; i.e. LIT-133 would transfer as either GE-Cultures or GE-Arts/Humanities.
