Nominate a Commencement Student Speaker

Celebrating Student Voices

We invite all faculty, staff, organization leaders, and coaches to participate in the nomination process for the Hawkeye Community College 2025 Commencement Student Speaker.

The nominated graduate should be someone who recognizes the significance of this occasion and is prepared to send fellow classmates into the world inspired, optimistic, and excited to take on their post-graduation plans. The graduate should also have great communication and presentation skills.

Nomination Process

1. To nominate a graduate, please complete the form below.
2. Reach out to the student to share your nomination and encourage them to complete the student speaker application. The commencement coordinators will also notify the graduate of your nomination.
3. All applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a selection committee.
4. Finalists will be invited to meet with the committee and provide a summary of their speech.
5. Content and delivery of the speech will all be considered in the final selection process.

Submit Your Commencement Student Speaker Nomination

All nominations must be received by Friday, January 24, 2025, to allow the nominee sufficient time to submit an application.
