Unity and Understanding Center
The Unity and Understanding Center is a welcoming space for students to study and connect with peers, faculty, and staff.
Home of Inclusion and Success Services and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Unity and Understanding Center provides ongoing free student programming through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, intensive instructional support and peer tutoring for first-generation students, as well as those with learning and/or physical disabilities or within income guidelines through Inclusion and Success Services, study spaces, lounge space, a conference room for student organizations to gather, and connection to other offices on campus and community resources.
Inside the Unity and Understanding Center

Private offices for confidential advising for Inclusion and Success Services staff and the director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

A small conference room for student organizations to host study groups and formal meetings, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training, and faculty to facilitate their office hours as needed.

Shared cubicle space for community partners and Hawkeye staff to assist students with academic, financial, educational, and personal needs.
