Board of Trustees Scholarship

Hawkeye Community College is pleased to offer the Board of Trustees, full tuition, scholarship program for the valedictorian and salutatorian of each high school in our service area.

Through this scholarship, we hope to encourage graduating seniors to attend Hawkeye Community College on a full-time basis for four semesters or 64 credits within two years.

It is the intent of the College that these scholarships will be restricted to the two highest CGPAs within each eligible high school graduating class.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Valedictorian or salutatorian of a high school in Hawkeye's service area
  • Full-time Hawkeye Community College student
  • Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.0 or above at Hawkeye Community College

What does the scholarship pay for?

The scholarship will pay for the current tuition rate per credit hour. The scholarship does NOT cover any additional fees or books.

How long is the scholarship effective?

The scholarship is effective with the summer session following May graduation, providing the recipient is planning to attend at least 12 credit hours the following fall semester. The scholarship will be allocated per semester, based on "Hawkeye" cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above. Should the recipient's CGPA fall below 3.0 at the end of any semester, the scholarship will be discontinued, or should the recipient not be enrolled on a full-time basis (12 credit hours), the scholarship will be discontinued.
