Scholarship Application

Welcome to the Hawkeye Community College scholarship application! Let us help you meet your educational needs!

Submit an application for consideration for Hawkeye Community College Scholarships. Your application will remain on file as long as you are consecutively registered for fall and spring semesters.

To submit a scholarship application, please choose one of the following:

Available Scholarships

  • Board of Trustees Scholarship

    The Board of Trustees Scholarship is a full tuition, scholarship program for the valedictorian and salutatorian of each high school in our service area. Learn more about the Board of Trustees Scholarship and how to apply.

  • Joe Nelson - Engineered Products Co. Scholarship

  • Sunshine Grant

    Application and award through the Martin Luther King Center.

  • TRiO Grant
    Application and award through Institutional Planning and Instructional Services.

Scholarship Application Due Dates —

  • Fall Awards — Scholarship application must be received by April 1. Must be registered for classes by May 1 to be eligible. If you are scheduled to register after May 1, please call the foundation office at 319 296-4002 to provide your registration date.
  • Spring Awards — Scholarship application must be received by November 1. Must be registered for classes by December 1 to be eligible.
  • New Students — High school graduating seniors must have applied and been accepted for admission by April 1 to be eligible for the new student scholarship

Scholarship Application Guidelines

Notification & Publicity

Recipients will be notified by mail by June 30, for fall scholarships, and December 30, for spring scholarships. Recipients must consent to publicity related to the scholarship awarded.

Awarding

Awards will be credited to the student’s Hawkeye bill. If awards exceed the bill, a check will be issued by the Business Office.

Scholarships

You will be considered for all scholarships where you meet the criteria from this single application. You do not have to apply for each individual scholarship.

General Criteria

Hawkeye Community College scholarships are based, in general, on cumulative grade point average, credits carried, and financial need. Other specific criteria may be designated by the scholarship donor.

There are some specific criteria for scholarships listed on the application. Please check those that apply to you and include the nature of each in your personal statement.
