The Web Design and Development program provides students with the knowledge and the skills to create dynamic web sites that are e-commerce ready. Students will learn to design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and maintain dynamic web applications in a hands-on approach.
Students will learn multiple web-related languages such as Java Script, XHTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, and SQL. The program is geared to give students real world hands-on experience in creating web sites. Current web standards are stressed throughout the program. Students will learn how to integrate databases into web sites. This includes creation of simple data displays to more complicated e-commerce enabled sites. Students are also trained in database design, project management, basic computer hardware, and desktop operating systems.
Hawkeye's Information Technology programs are located in the newly constructed addition of Black Hawk Hall. The Information Technology lab equipment and technology are state-of-the-art.
The Web Design and Development Program is four semesters in length. Students enter in the Fall semester and graduate after completing the Spring semester the following year. For other starting dates, contact the Information Technology Department at 319-296-4021.
Students in the Web Design & Development program interested in continuing their education should visit with a program advisor.
