The Heating and Air Conditioning program is designed to provide classroom and shop learning experiences. Students gain the knowledge to become proficient in the theory and service of domestic environmental comfort conditioning equipment.
The Heating and Air Conditioning's 16-week employment experience allows students to gain real work experience on-site at an employer. This ensures that the students gain the skills they need to succeed on the job.
The Heating and Air Conditioning program is three semesters in length. Students enter in the Fall semester and graduate the following year after completing the Summer semester. Hawkeye’s Industrial and Engineering Technology Department has a block articulation with the University of Northern Iowa Department of Industrial Technology to transfer both general education and technical credits. For more information on transferring credits, visit with a program advisor.
