The Electromechanical Technology program prepares students to be a part of the production team in electrical and mechanical maintenance. Students are trained in mechanical theory, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and electronic devices and controls.
The demand for electromechanical maintenance workers is very high. Hawkeye has a unique training partnership with Tyson to train and hire individuals from this program.
Electromechanical Technology program starts in the Spring semester and is a three semester program.
Hawkeye’s Industrial and Engineering Technology Department has a block articulation with the University of Northern Iowa Department of Industrial Technology to transfer both general education and technical credits. For more information on transferring credits, talk to a program advisor.
