The Associate in General Studies – General Business degree is designed to provide students the opportunity to transfer to a four-year institution or move directly into the workforce. This degree may also be beneficial to the student who is working and desires skill enhancement. The AGS degree allows students the flexibility of taking both transfer and non-transfer technical courses along with a general education core.
Students will concentrate in a particular interest area while fulfilling the business requirements. General Studies graduates gain an understanding of the various facets of business and their importance in today's business world and are able to demonstrate skills in a particular concentration (e.g., accounting, marketing, office support, information systems, or management).
The AGS degree includes a minimum of 62 to 64 credit hours of courses. Of those 62 to 64 hours, 31 are in general education and 31 to 33 are in a program emphasis. Students will concentrate in a particular interest area while fulfilling the business requirements.
AGS graduates will gain an understanding of the various facets of business and their importance in today's business world and will be able to demonstrate skills in a particular area of concentration.
