The Electronics Engineering Technology program provides students with broad-based knowledge and skills in medical electronics, communications, electronics manufacturing, electronics maintenance, computer and business machine repair, electronics design and development, computer software, and networking.
Electronics Engineering Technicians work with electronics engineers to design, develop, and manufacture industrial and consumer electronic equipment including sonar, radar, navigational equipment, and computers among many others. They are involved in fabricating, operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
The demand for trained electronics technicians is very strong. Hawkeye has a unique training partnership with John Deere to train and hire individuals.
This is a two and a half year program and starts in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Hawkeye’s Electronics Engineering Technology program has a block articulation with the University of Northern Iowa Department of Industrial Technology to transfer both general education and technical credits. Other state and private four-year colleges may transfer credits. For more information on transferring credits, talk to a program advisor.

"I've gone on to receive other degrees at other institutions, but the instructors that I remember the most are from Hawkeye. I truly believe that the educational background established at Hawkeye has been a major factor in my success at Rockwell Collins."
Jim Lavenz, Senior Engineering Manager Rockwell Collins - Cedar Rapids, IA Class of 1976
