Summer Work Program

Apply now for Summer Work Program to earn money.

Hawkeye Community College Iow@Work has secured stimulus funding for a summer program to help area youth find summer jobs. The program is a part of the Workforce Investment Act and is funded by the region’s share of President Obama’s $4.4 million state-wide stimulus package for summer youth programs.

The program is designed to help youth find a job where they can build a good track record of employment, responsibility, and work habits.

Where can I work?

Variety of private and public non-profit agencies.

When can I work and how much will I get paid?

Program will begin June 22 and run through the end of July.

May work up to 30 hours per week at $7.25 per hour.

Am I eligible?

  • Individuals age 16 to 21
  • Veterans and eligible spouses up to age 24
  • Some income restrictions
  • Live in Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, or Grundy counties

How do I apply?

Interested youth should apply as soon as possible as these summer jobs will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis to qualified individuals.
