Private Loan Good Choices Packet

Before a private loan is certified for disbursement by the Financial Aid office you are required to complete a “Good Choices” packet. This must be done each year before borrowing a Private Loan at Hawkeye.

We have developed the "Good Choices" packet to help you make informed decisions today by thinking about your future repayment responsibilities. This will help you avoid repayment difficulties or default on a loan in the future.

This packet of information contains exercises that will help you estimate how much student loan debt you may accumulate during your college years, projecting expenses and financial resources while attending Hawkeye each academic year, and distinguishing “wants” from “needs” in an attempt to keep borrowing to a minimum.

If you have questions or would like help completing the packet, please make an appointment with one of our Financial Aid Advisors.
