Our Vision

In May 2006, the Brobst Center Steering Committee articulated their preferred future— guiding principles for our work, a description of the way we work together, and our desired results for students and our college community.

Important elements of the Preferred Future include:

  • Shifting from a focus on the process of teaching to a focus on the results of learning
  • Using Faculty Learning Communities as our method for accomplishing authentic work over time
  • Knowing and honoring the difference between activity and achievement
  • Creating abundant, differentiated, and energizing faculty development experiences for all who teach our students
