Rehabilitation Aide
Purpose: To prepare persons who are working as nurse aides with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively provide rehabilitative therapies under the direction of a physical therapist or occupational therapist. It is assumed that persons taking this course will have basic knowledge and skills at the nurse aide level and have a minimum of six months experience working with chronically ill or aging residents/patients.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
- Understand special conditions requiring rehabilitation services.
- Develop skills in range of motion.
- Develop skills in mobility techniques.
- Develop skills in activities of daily living.
- Develop skills in therapeutic exercises.
- Work effectively with others to carry out the rehabilitation plan.

Tuition: $320 includes handbook, materials and lab fees.
***Tuition must be paid 48 hours before the first class session. A $15.00 late fee will be assessed after that. If you register and are unable to attend, and notify Hawkeye Community College 48 hour prior to the first class session a full refund will be made. There will be no refunds otherwise. This policy also pertains to third billing parties.
