JOB SUMMARY: This individual provides the vision to identify and evaluate new opportunities to develop a Strategic Technology Plan and annual Tactical Plan to support the College’s goals and objectives. Provides leadership to integrate information technology into College decision making. Collaborates with all College departments to leverage technology for cost savings and increased operational efficiencies. Develops annual technology budget and monitors and controls expenditures. Oversees the College’s communication systems and equipment, including telephones, ICN, long-distance services, computer communications, and fiber-optic systems. Recommends the hiring of technology staff, assigns/schedules work, evaluates performance, approves leaves, and administers personnel procedures. Oversees the design of data networks. Establishes and monitors security measures for College networks including Internet. Establishes a system of assistance and training for faculty, staff, and students in the operation of personal computers and personal computer software. Maintains an up-to-date inventory of all equipment, supplies, and software. Directs lifecycle planning of all network/microcomputer hardware and software. Develops and implements standards and policies relating to computer and network usage. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related area required. Five years’ experience working in a supervisory, administrative, or leadership capacity in Information Technology (IT) services. Record of effective strategic and tactical planning in IT. Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise complex IT operations and budget. Sound decision making skills and the ability to articulate those decisions. Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and presentation skills.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time position opening with a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution). Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience.
