JOB SUMMARY: This individual records all accounting system transactions for the Foundation, prepares financial statements, and reconciles bank statements. Accounts for investments and records interest earned to endowments and fund accounts. Processes invoices and prepares checks for payment of expenses. Prepares and makes Foundation bank deposits. Informs the Foundation Finance Committee of financial activity. Releases purchase orders and tracks Foundation budget. Works with Auditors to obtain annual audit. Administers loan program including obtaining credit reports, awarding loans, maintaining documentation, tracking payments, and collections. Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual and special reports, as directed by the Executive Director. Prepares charts and graphs with professional appearance. Works with the scholarship committee regarding scholarship funds available for awarding and distribution of foundation scholarships. Coordinates all transaction activities related to fundraising campaigns. Enters and maintains financial and general information in accounting software (currently Fund EZ) and CRM software (currently Results Plus+) systems/databases. Manages software contracts and updates for foundation specific software with HCC CIS. Prepares statistical information from information obtained from the data base. Works closely with grant administrators to manage grant funds held by the HCC Foundation. Gathers financial information and prepares reports for various grant related needs. Assists the Executive Director with projects and policy development related to financial information and management. Keeps the Executive Director informed of activities and new requirements. Notifies the Executive Director of any problems or positive suggestions. Assists with Foundation and College events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with two years accounting or auditing experience. Must pass criminal record check. Experience with personal computer and related software (Word, spreadsheets, and databases). Working knowledge of sound accounting practices, procedures and principles. Working knowledge of budget administration and fiscal monitoring. Ability to work with staff, students, local, State and County business and Government officials, and the general public, project a positive professional image. Ability to work with confidential information. Ability to provide excellent customer service skills in public relations. Ability to handle multiple priorities, business documents and forms through knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Ability to operate office equipment. Ability to respond quickly to deadlines and perform a multitude of tasks. Good written and verbal communication skills. Skill and accuracy in data entry.
