JOB SUMMARY: This individual develops and implements eligibility, intake, assessment, case management, evaluation methods, tools, and other documents needed to support the Pathways for Academic Career Education and Employment (PACE) initiative. Documents shall support customized service delivery plans for program participants, as well as provide information for potential funders. Administers and schedules PACE cohort pilot programs, and leads recruitment efforts in consultation with Business & Community Education, Cedar Valley Iowa Works, Academic Affairs, and other college programs and committees. Works in collaboration with Business & Community Education, Cedar Valley Iowa Works, Academic Affairs, and other college programs and committees on the development and implementation of existing and future PACE initiative programs, with a focus on creation of career pathways and articulation of programs between credit and non-credit programming. Forms relationships with Community-Based Organizations to create a referral system, as well as partner agreements linking PACE program participants to support services needed to successfully enroll and complete education and training plans. Serves as a coach/advisor to students in PACE programming, linking students with appropriate college and partner resources. Performs other related work duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in human services, public administration, business, or related field and one year work experience in human services, career counseling, or education. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work with diverse groups. Ability to lead and participate in project teams. Computer skills in a technical training environment. Ability to travel to and from work sites and meetings, day and evenings. Multitask in a fast-paced, independent working environment. Be able to represent the college in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve. Be able to assume responsibility and deal effectively with problems and exercise good judgment when making decisions. Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communications. Possess strong human relations skills. Preferences include experience working career pathway programs or initiatives.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time position with a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution). Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience.
