MON7 JOB SUMMARY: This is a full-time position providing high-quality classroom and laboratory instruction and leadership for the students in the Information Systems Management and Network Administration and Engineering program classes. Instructional areas will include, but not limited to CompTIA A+, and Microsoft Server related classes. May also teach IT Security and Linux related classes if proficient in those areas. Major responsibilities include planning and guiding the learning process, including curriculum design and implementation, toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects for student implementation. Other responsibilities include active participation as a faculty member with a focus on student learning, facilitating discipline related activities, assessment of student achievement, student academic advising, and department committee assignments. Teaching assignments may include days and evenings, and various sites and formats (face-to-face, on-line, ICN). A full-time teaching load of 15 credit hours per term is typical. This individual will maintain cooperative relationships with the Dean, other faculty, all divisions of the College, prospective employers, and the community. Performs other duties as assigned. This individual reports to the Dean of STEM and Business.
QUALIFICATIONS: Special training and 6,000 hours of recent, relevant work experience. Ability to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, staff, and the public. Ability to apply teaching skills, motivate and interest students, be personable and professional, and be able to learn and apply new concepts and ideas. Preferences include a related Bachelor’s degree, CompTIA A+, Linux+, Network+ and Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE Certification(s).
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Nine-month contractual position beginning in August of 2017. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience and will include a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; personal and sick leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution).
