Account Clerk III - Business Office

MON7 JOB SUMMARY: This individual is the lead cashier for the Business Office. Balances cash box daily. Coordinates monthly generation and mailing of student invoices. Tracks invoices and purchase orders for student tool purchases, charges students with approved tool loans. Coordinates and balances outside scholarships with Financial Aid Department records. Follow-up on outstanding receivables to facilitate collection/ first line of collection. Responsible for printing and mailing of registration statements, including updating the enclosure at the beginning of each term. Assists with Financial Policy Waiver process. Creates miscellaneous student and vendor invoices. Provides back up for ID Card process. Exercises professional judgment when providing student account information according to FERPA regulations. Processes Guernsey Loans. Provides back up for the receptionist. Performs other related Business Office duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in accounting and two years’ experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to pass criminal record check. Ability to work with diverse groups including staff, students, local and State business and Government officials, and the general public. Project a positive, professional image with good customer service skills. Ability to work with confidential information, and business documents. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated ability to perform a multitude of tasks, properly prioritize, and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Accurate data entry skills and good organizational skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Preferences include Datatel/Ellucian (Colleague) experience and knowledge of financial aid and third party funding.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time position with a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution). Expected hours will be eight hours per day between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. or later on occasion as school activities require, Monday through Friday.
