Account Clerk II

JOB SUMMARY: This individual assists the lead cashier in the Business Office. Assists with monthly student invoices. Assists students with questions on their Financial Aid account. Prepares student ID cards for the Mandatory Orientation Registration Experience (MORE) sessions. Reconciles approved tool loan invoices. Follows-up on duplicate student records. Balances student bookstore charges. Assists with balancing of Guernsey Loan account. Provides back-up for ID Card process in the business office. Provides follow-up locating of students for Federal compliance of outstanding checks. Provides research and follow-up on unclaimed property. Exercises professional judgment when providing student account information according to FERPA regulations. Follows up on returned mail. Follows up and collects outstanding receivables. Performs other related Business Office duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree with minimum two years’ relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to pass criminal record check. Ability to work with staff, students, and the general public. Must project a positive professional image. Must be able to work with confidential information. Excellent customer service, and public relations skills. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to multi task and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Accurate data entry skills and good organizational skills. Preferences include Datatel experience.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Wages expected to be $11.73 per hour and a choice of retirement programs-IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution). Full time position includes a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave.
