Green Belt Training

Gain a solid general knowledge of the theory, composition, and implementation of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt initiative.

As a Six Sigma Green Belt you will handle Six Sigma responsibilities along with other job duties and work under the guidance of a Six Sigma Black Belt. You will analyze and solve quality problems and be involved in quality improvement projects.

You Will Learn

You will learn and practice all of the Lean and Six Sigma tools necessary to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control Green Belt improvement projects, as well as, master the skills necessary to lead and manage a complex process improvement project that produces bottom-line results.

After course completion, you should be able to:

  • communicate using Lean Six Sigma concepts.

  • think about your organization as a collection of processes with inputs that determine the output.

  • relate Lean Six Sigma concepts to the overall business mission and objectives.

  • use the concept of a Sigma Level to evaluate the capability of a process or organization.

  • understand and apply the five step DMAIC model as a framework to organize process improvement activity.

  • employ a wide range of process improvement techniques within the DMAIC model.

  • recognize the organization factors that are necessary groundwork for a successful Lean Six Sigma effort.

  • employ your Six Sigma skills to lead a successful process improvement project delivering meaningful results to the organization.

Course Format

This course will use a blended learning approach for Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training and certification.

Your 80 hour instructor supported e-learning course will include in class training and coaching via:

  • individual and conference calls,
  • project support, and
  • community support.

During your two and a half days of in class training, you will complete the Leadership and Management course and learn facilitation and communication skills.

Certification

For certification, you must review all of the lessons and complete all of the quiz modules. MoreSteam will provide you with a Certificate of Training Completion. You will also earn CEUs or PDUs of credit.

MoreSteam's Belt Certification subscribes to the belt certification standards established by the Center of Operational Excellence at the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University.

Cost

Per person cost is $3,950 and includes:

  • 80 hour instructor-supported e-learning course
  • Project coaching and support
  • Two days of in-class training following completion of the online portion

Grant funding may be available for qualifying businesses.

About the Trainer, Steve Wilson and WCTS

Steve Wilson is currently the owner of Wilson Consulting & Training Services, an operational excellence consulting firm and has more than 20 years of practical experience. He is an ASQ Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has trained over 700 lean six sigma practitioners from such industries as Healthcare, Manufacturing, Government, and Education. A graduate of Kennedy Western University, Steve holds a degree in Management/Leadership. He is certified as a Lean Practitioner by the University Of Michigan College of Engineering and is trained in Supply Chain Logistics through the Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization and Goldratt Schools. He is a contributor to various quality publications and is the author of the book, "Six Sigma for Leaders" and creator and host of the international internet radio program, Quality Conversations.
