GED and Language Learning Programs

English Language Learning (ELL)

The English Language Learning (ELL) course for adults is offered during the Fall Semester and Spring Semester.

Each semester is 15 weeks of instruction. The four-level program integrates listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, math, and pronunciation skills with life-skills topics, critical thinking activities, and civics concepts. Computer skills are included in the course.

The classes are free, however, students need to purchase class materials.

Students are required to:

  • purchase class materials,
  • be on time and attend classes every day, and
  • take a test at the end of the semester.

Regular attendance is absolutely necessary for success and also in order to take the required test at the end of the semester.
