Carpentry Apprenticeship Program
Hawkeye offers a four-level Carpentry Apprenticeship program for individuals who want to gain experience in the commercial carpentry industry. Carpenters with a wide range of skills are in demand in a variety of construction activities from highway construction to commercial construction and residential home remodeling. Carpenters construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This program uses the NCCER curriculum and covers content such as Building Materials, Floor Systems, and Advanced Wall Systems.

Carpentry Level 1 Apprenticeship program topics will include:
- Orientation to the Trade
- Building Materials, Fasteners, and Adhesives
- Hand and Power Tools
- Reading Plans and Elevations
- Floor Systems
- Wall and Ceiling Framing
- Roof Framing
- Introduction to Concrete, Reinforcing Materials, and Forms
- Windows and Exterior Doors
- Basic Stair Layout

- Doors and Door Hardware
- Suspended Ceilings
- Window, Door, Floor, and Ceiling Trim
- Cabinet Installation
- Cabinet Fabrication
