In celebration of el Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), an ofrenda (commemorative altar/display for one’s ancestors) was created in the Hawkeye Library.
Visitors to the ofrenda were invited to participate by leaving a photo, message, or other item for their own antepasados (ancestors) and other loved ones who have passed away.
The display included information on the components, historical and religious sources, and uses of the ofrenda.
