Culbertson Selected as One of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses for 2012

WATERLOO—Russell Culbertson of Cedar Falls has been selected as one of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses for 2012. This award recognizes that the recipient has made a meaningful and lasting contribution to humanity and to the nursing profession and is viewed as mentors to others. Culbertson will be honored in May at a ceremony in Des Moines at the Veteran’s Auditorium, where family, friends, and colleagues will help celebrate outstanding careers and achievements of the recipients for this special award. He works at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, where he is an assistant professor in the Health Sciences department and teaches nursing curriculum.
This year is the eighth year of the awards for “100 Great Iowa Nurses”. Nurses selected for this honor come from a variety of health-related fields, including hospitals, long-term care, educational settings, and offices. Three other states hold similar celebrations.
