Admissions

Readmission to Hawkeye

  1. Complete the Returning Student Application for Admission if you have applied or attended and left Hawkeye for a semester or longer and would like to return to take courses.

  2. Send your official transcripts to the Admissions office if you last applied more than five years ago or have additional college credit you would like to transfer.

    • Official high school transcripts showing graduation and/or GED scores.

    • Official college transcripts if you have attended another college, university, or trade school and would like to receive possible credit.

    • Military transcripts: military branch transcript request websites

Transcripts must be official. An official transcript is sent directly from your high school, college, university, or trade school in a sealed envelope.

  3. Send your ACT scores or official COMPASS scores to the Admissions office or register for the COMPASS assessment if you last applied more than five years ago.

The ACT is not required, but it is accepted for admission. If you choose not to take the ACT, you must take the COMPASS assessment.

If you have taken the ACT, your score will appear on your high school transcript.

If you have prior college credit in math, reading, or English, you may be exempt from one or more assessment areas. Please contact the Admissions office for more information.

Admission Confirmation

We will send you a letter of acceptance or non-acceptance in the mail notifying you of your acceptance status once you have completed the steps above.
