Registering for Classes

Late Registration / Adding a Course after the Semester has Started

Late registration begins on the third day of any course (excluding Minimesters). After the third calendar day of the course, you may add the course only with instructor approval. For example, the last day to register for a course without instructor permission that begins Monday, January 10 is Wednesday, January 12.

To grant you permission to register for the course, the course instructor will need to sign the Registration and Records Policy Waiver form or send the Registration office an email via their Hawkeye email address. Be sure the correct course information such as the course catalog number and class day/time is included in the email.

The form or email must be received by the Registration office by the registration deadline.

Registration after the second week of a 16-week class is not permitted. All other course formats will be pro-rated accordingly.

Vital instruction begins on day one. You are encouraged to attend the class you wish to add.

Please keep in mind that your financial aid grants will not be adjusted as a result of any changes in your enrollment after the financial aid lock date, including late start classes. Please refer to the Financial Aid Handbook for more information.
